JUDGE JP Horn is expected to pass judgment today on Nthabiseng Dlamini, who allegedly burnt her four-month-old baby to death.
Dlamini, 37, allegedly killed her son Mzwandile by setting alight the shack in which he was sleeping at the Jackson informal settlement south of Johannesburg on May 1 last year.
She faces charges of murder and arson.
The mother allegedly quarrelled with her boyfriend, Jantjie Zenze, Mzwandile's father. She allegedly took her infant son to his father's nearby shack, poured paraffin over everything and set the place alight.
Mzwandile was burnt beyond recognition in the blaze that reduced his father's possessions to ashes.
Dlamini, who is out on bail, told the judge yesterday that she did not have money to return to court for her judgment.
The investigating officer, Detective Inspector Daniel Mnguni, assured the judge that he would bring her back today to the Vereeniging circuit court for judgment.
