SOUSSE - Tunisia missed several scoring chances on Wednesday and were held to a 0-0 draw in a friendly against Ivory Coast, who were missing star striker Didier Drogba due to an injury.

Drogba picked up a knock on Sunday in Chelsea's Community Shield win over Manchester United. Manchester City defender Kolo Toure also missed the match because of a thigh problem.

At the Stade Olympique de Sousse, the Elephants almost took the lead in the fifth minute when Marseille striker Bakary Kone burst past Tunisia defender Karim Haggui and his shot went just over the crossbar.

Tunisia then hit back, and Seif Ghezel forced Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry into a smart save when he took a shot from close range after the Carthage Eagles won a corner.

Barry was called into action again early in the second half when he kept out Chaouki Ben Saada's shot, and Tunisia went close once more in the 64th minute when Fahid Ben Khalfallah's scorcher flew over.
