Bucs vs Downs a hot ticket

TICKETS for the top-of-the-table league clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are already on sale at Computicket and Shoprite-Checkers outlets countrywide, it was announced yesterday.

TICKETS for the top-of-the-table league clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are already on sale at Computicket and Shoprite-Checkers outlets countrywide, it was announced yesterday.

This Absa Premiership encounter is billed for Ellis Park Stadium next Wednesday evening. Kickoff is at 7.

"With just over a week before we meet them, it is important for our supporters to know that our tickets are selling fast and that we are utilising the colour-coded (seating) method in this encounter," Mickey Modisane, Pirates' spokesperson, said yesterday. He said both teams' supporters should ask for the specific area tickets:

l East upper and North lower areas for Sundowns; and

l West lower (main grandstand), West upper, East lower and South lower all for Pirates supporters.

Modisane said no tickets will be sold at the stadium, hence the early request, so as to avoid last-minute rushes and unnecessary disappointment.

He said hospitality tickets were on sale at Pirates' offices at R600 per person.

"To our supporters, we say we are on the right track," Modisane said.

"Our season-opener win against Ajax Cape Town has given us so much hope ahead of the chock-a-block 2009-2010 season.

"This display had lots of positives, especially having defeated our so-called hoodoo team in their own backyard.

"This in itself has given us much-needed confidence. It is correct to say we are on the right track.

"Our next game is also going to be one of those never easy to win as we play Sundowns at home.

"This is one match that we have to win convincingly and at all costs.

"Our win on this one is going to demonstrate to our rivals and also those who are destined to visit our home that we are destined for greater heights come the end of the season," Modisane said.
