The council's executive director of transport Lisa Seftel said yesterday that transgressors would face the might of the law - starting from tomorrow .

Motorists, mainly taxi drivers, have been beating peak-hour traffic by illegally driving on the BRT lanes that stretch from Regina Mundi in Soweto to Ellis Park Stadium.

Metro police spokesperson Inspector Edna Mamonyane said: "We will impound those vehicles and issue R400 fines. "
