Comics come to Jozi

COMEDIANS Trevor Noah and David Kibuuka will next week enjoy the limelight with international entertainers at the annual Nando's Jozi International Comedy Festival in Joburg.

COMEDIANS Trevor Noah and David Kibuuka will next week enjoy the limelight with international entertainers at the annual Nando's Jozi International Comedy Festival in Joburg.

The festival in the Teatro Theatre at Montecasino from August 17 will see Noah and Kibuuka perform with top international comedy stars. Among them will be Tsarouchas (Canada), actor and comedy heavyweight Ahmed Ahmed (Egypt), who has toured the US and Europe and will be making his first appearance in South Africa.

Others in the line-up are comedy legend Steve Best (UK), who is sure to wow Jozi fans with his one-liners and props in an extremely visual comedy act; Kitty Flanagan, and Dean Edwards (US), the comedian and actor from the cast of Saturday Night Live who will bring his hilarious impressions to the stage.

"We are excited to be part of this festival and look forward to sharing loads of laughter with our consumers. It's quite natural for us to partner Hunta Live with this funny venture because at Nando's we know that laughter is the best medicine," said Sylvester Chauke, Nando's national marketing manager.

"Montecasino are thrilled to be the venue for the Nando's Jozi Comedy Festival. The relationship with the comedy festival adds to the variety of exciting entertainment options at Montecasino," casino general manager Steve Howell said.
