Inspector Mbongiseni Mdlalose said yesterday Mandlenkosi Dlamini, 55, was found dead on Sunday.
"Dlamini was an induna (traditional leader) in the area," Mdlalose said. "He was shot dead. Nothing was taken from him and his gun was found on the scene."
He said two people had been arrested in connection with Dlamini's death.
In another incident, a 17-year-old boy was shot dead by a family member.
"It is unclear how the boy and the suspect where related. The boy died on the way to hospital," Mdlalose said. - Sapa
