Health MEC Theuns Botha told a press conference at the provincial government yesterday that so far the confirmed cases of swine flu have mainly been from affluent communities.
But he said Tamiflu and swine flu tests would be available in township clinics.
"We are not going to save money in trying to curb this pandemic," Botha said. "We are not making calculations."
But community leaders say they do not believe him. Khayelitsha community leader Mzonke Poni said "most medicines are not even available at the clinic." - Anna Majavu
