Still no trace of missing teacher

THERE is still no trace of a Limpopo teacher who has been missing for 22 days.

Thani Enos Mabetlela went missing on July 17 and since then police have been trying to locate him.

Mabetlela was last seen alighting from a car in Polokwane. He was a teacher at Kgaloshi High School at Doornfontein in the Maleboho area.

Police said he disappeared while on his way home at Segoleng village in GaMamabolo, outside Polokwane.

Police Inspector Lesiba Ramoshaba said Mabetlela was last seen at the corner of Thabo Mbeki and Dahl streets in Polokwane.

"We have unsuccessfully launched a search for Mabetlela since his disappearance was reported.

"We ask members of the public to assist us with any information regarding his whereabouts," said Ramoshaba.

He said colleagues described Mabetlela as light in complexion. He was wearing a powder blue long-sleeved shirt, a pair of khaki trousers and brown shoes on the day he went missing.

"We are investigating a case of a missing person. We have already interviewed people who saw him on the day. We have also interviewed Mabetlela's family to try and solve the case but without success," he said.

Ramoshaba appealed to members of the public who can shed light on the matter to contact investigating officer Inspector Evans Moloto on 084-507-3167 or the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, Ramoshaba said police have also opened a case of kidnapping after the disappearance of Samuel Khuloana Mamabolo.

Mamabolo, 22, worked as a security guard in Pretoria, Gauteng.

He disappeared while on his way to visit his family in Segopye, GaMamabolo, on April 1. He allegedly made a call to his family on his arrival at the Polokwane railway station - but he never reached home.

Anyone with information is requested to contact Inspector Lesetja Manaka on 082-493-6559.
