THE case against the high school teacher arrested for allegedly having sex with pupils in the school's laboratory has been postponed yet again in the Umlazi magistrate's court.

This after the state had not finalised the additional charges against the accused.

The 46-year-old Makhumbuza High School teacher is out on bail.

The case was adjourned the last time he appeared in court so that the police could prepare final charges against him.

When he appeared yesterday the case was postponed yet again in order to finalise the charges.

The accused was initially charged with rape when he was arrested in May this year.

But additional charges followed as police continued with their investigation, adding crimen injuria, sexual assault, harassment, and corporal punishment.

The teacher is facing a total of 17 charges after eight victims opted to charge him.

Threats by the community of Umlazi and students to pack the court yesterday did not materialise.
