Police, ambulance call centres are hopeless

I DON'T know if anyone out there has tried to get assistance from the police and ambulance call centres recently.

I DON'T know if anyone out there has tried to get assistance from the police and ambulance call centres recently.

I have and every time I have done so I asked myself: Whose idea were these call centre' s?

The people who work there are ill-informed, arrogant and incompetent. They bang the phone down or tell you to hold on and then disconnect you.

They give the same reference number to more than one person and mix up the addresses of people who need help.

As if having a bleeding person on your hands is not enough, you have to wait for help for hours and to keep calling to get the same bad treatment.

What has the nation done to deserve such a raw deal from these service providers, and for how long do we have to suffer them?

We really need Sowetan to intervene in this issue.

We are tired of being tortured by these people.
