Steroid sample confirmed

BOXING SA informed Jared "The Storm" Lovett that the analytical report it received from the laboratory confirmed the presence of the anabolic agent (Stanozolol) and its metabolites in his urine sample provided by him on July 12.

BOXING SA informed Jared "The Storm" Lovett that the analytical report it received from the laboratory confirmed the presence of the anabolic agent (Stanozolol) and its metabolites in his urine sample provided by him on July 12.

Acting CEO of Boxing SA Loyiso Mtya said Lovett must inform the boxing body in writing by Tuesday as to whether he wanted a B sample analysed.

"If, however, you waive your right in writing, to have your B sample tested, BSA will expect to hear from you, also in writing, whether you have any information or evidence on the test that requires further investigation," Mtya said.

"Once all the above has been settled, BSA will convene a meeting on a date no less than 4 days from August 4 to hear your case.

"That meeting will comprise of people from SAIDS, who have expertise on sports medicine and legal matters.

"BSA will lead the case. You will be expected to bring your own representative."

Mtya added that if Lovett does not respond within the stipulated period, Boxing SA will assert that an anti-doping rule violation has been committed.
