Sexwale hijack case is delayed

MBUSO Simelane, one of the men accused of hijacking Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale's wife Judith, had his case in the Wynberg magistrate's court delayed again yesterday.

MBUSO Simelane, one of the men accused of hijacking Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale's wife Judith, had his case in the Wynberg magistrate's court delayed again yesterday.

The case was postponed again because his family will only be able to raise money for a new lawyer by the end of the month.

Simelane has already fired four of his lawyers during the trial.

Two men had held Sexwale up at gunpoint on July 18 2007 while she was picking up her son from St David's Marist School.

They allegedly made off in her BMW X5 with and also took her cellphone, gold Rolex watch and R100000 in foreign currency. Sexwale identified Simelane in a police ID parade.

The trial resumes on August 4.
