WESTERN Cape farmworkers who camped at the gates of Parliament on Tuesday night say they are disillusioned with President Jacob Zuma, after he failed to show up for a meeting with them yesterday.
Camper Max Mgijima said the presidency sent an official instead, who was "just nodding to everything we demanded".
"We want a meeting with the president or his deputy because we have been talking with no results," Mgijima said.
The group of about 60 people was supposed to camp outside Parliament last night too but said they were heading home feeling disappointed.
The farmworkers want Zuma to expropriate the Kaap Fleur flower farm in Stellenbosch.
The farm will close its operations tomorrow, leaving eight families out of work. The farmer, a Mrs Van Haaster, confirmed to Sowetan that she and her husband no longer needed the workers because the business was closing down.
