PRETORIA police have made a breakthrough in a gang-rape case after the victim came face-to-face with one of her alleged attackers in Soshanguve this week.

The incident occurred on June 22 in Soshanguve Block K. The 27-year-old woman was walking with her boyfriend that night when they were attacked by three youths, who later allegedly took turns in raping her.

On Tuesday, the woman spotted one of her alleged attackers in the same section where the incident occurred. She immediately alerted the police, who acted swiftly and arrested a 16-year-old suspect.

He then pointed out his two accomplices. The three are expected to appear in the local magistrate's court soon, police said. - McKeed Kotlolo
