Jacob Zuma dancing to Cosatu's tune

IS THIS the dictatorship of the proletariat Lenin talked about in propagating communism?

Is it a tail wagging the dog situation?

Cosatu was instrumental in bringing Thabo Mbeki down. The labour federation also discredited Tito Mboweni and he is gone.

It pushed for Pravin Gordhan to replace Trevor Manuel, and it happened. It deployed Ebrahim Patel to drive the economy. Jacob Zuma succumbed.

Zuma advocated a flexible application of the Labour Relations Act for small companies - mainly BEE companies.

He withdrew his proposal after being summoned to the Cosatu central committee. The only things that he has successfully resisted is the nationalisation of the mines, banks and land, as well as reversing Nelson Mandela's Gear Policy adopted in 1997 by the ANC at the Mafikeng Conference.

Why is Cosatu now silent about Gear when Msholozi has not criticised this policy between 1996 and 2005? Was he scared of upsetting Madiba and Mzizi?

In KwaZulu-Natal Sadtu has called for the removal of education superintendent Cassius Sibisi and MEC Senzo Mchunu has indicated that he is looking positively at Sadtu's wish.

Will Gill Marcus resist the noise from Cosatu and the SACP? Time will tell because she is not a communist.

Thanks to the media for exposing a meeting between Zuma, Zwelinzima Vavi and Marcus. This is the dictatorship of the proletariat and Zuma is dancing to Cosatu's tune.

Indeed Vavi must also approve appointment of Judge John Hlophe as the new chief justice. Zuma is just an absentee president while power rests with Cosatu House.
