TOKYO - Japan will be hosted by South Africa as part of their preparations for the 2010 World Cup at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in November, Japan coach Takeshi Okada said yesterday.
The game will take place on November 14 at the stadium where one of the semifinals will be played next year.
Europe-based players, led by Shunsuke Nakamura, who plays in Spain for Espanyol, are expected to join the Japanese team.
After the game Japan will move on to Hong Kong for a qualifying match in the Asian Cup.
"It is good to play a game in South Africa. It will be good preparation for our players and staff," Okada said.
Other Pacific Rim nations that have qualified for the Cup are Australia, and South and North Korea. - AFP
