IT HAS been two months since Polokwane municipal manager Letsepe Thubakgale was suspended, allegedly over irregularities in his department.
Thubakgale was suspended on May 28 after mayor Thabo Makunyane allegedly decided to activities.
The probe followed allegations that he did not cooperate with other municipal officials, was involved in the irregular allocation of contracts and had inflated the purchase price of traffic cameras.
But Sowetan has reliably learnt that Thubakgale was neither given reasons for his suspension nor charged formally.
A source close to Thubakgale and the municipality hinted yesterday that he was suspended for two months.
Thubakgale's suspension will end on Monday.
The municipality's Simon Mokoatedi yesterday said the matter had been referred to their lawyers.
Sowetan has also been told that Thubakgale has briefed his lawyer.
