LEAGUE HOTS UP

THE inaugural Sasol League draws to a close next month, women's month, and players from all nine provinces have a lot to look forward to.

THE inaugural Sasol League draws to a close next month, women's month, and players from all nine provinces have a lot to look forward to.

Sasol started sponsoring women's football early this year, and made it possible for more than 600 women's teams in all nine provinces to compete.

This all comes to a climax from August 23 to 29, when all first-placed teams meet in the national championships at Belhar Stadium in Cape Town.

With R30000 prize money awaiting the champions, action has hotted up considerably across all provinces as teams battle for the rare opportunity to get paid in the women's game.

The runners-up will get R20000, the third-placed team R15000 and the fourth-placed team R10000.
