Lynn Brown must grow up

ON July 18 on SABC News, former premier of Western Cape Lynn Brown made a very disappointing and childish statement. She said she didn't know why people voted oppressors into power in Western Cape.

One would think that Brown would have been a mature politician and a gracious loser who understands our history and previous oppressors, such as oppressors who are now in the ANC under the leadership of Marthinus Van Schalkwyk. But it is obvious from her remarks that she is still politically wet behind the ears.

I wonder how the ANC could give Brown those high positions, including the premiership? On second thought, should I really wonder? I mean it has become a culture for the ANC to deploy incompetent individuals to high positions, as long as they are loyal to the leadership.

The DA won the elections in Western Cape and in Cape Town fair and square because people there are not naïve. They know and understand the history of this country. The people know what they want and how to get it. What they want is quality service delivery and real job opportunities that the ANC has failed to provide.

They are liberals who advocate an open-opportunity society, an ideal that the DA stands for.

My free advice to Brown and the other crybabies is: You are now leaders occupying high positions in this country, so please grow up and stop behaving like dumped teenagers who have just dropped their ice cream.
