MEMBERS of the Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers Union held pickets outside their employers' premises yesterday as their strike over wages entered its third day.
Ceppwawu spokesperson Cedric Maluleke said the aim of the pickets at Tiger Brands in Isando, Sappi in Springs and Sasol Nitro in Bronkhorstspruit was "to ensure that employers reconsider their offer of 7percent".
Ceppwawu members were joined by members of the General Industries Workers Union of SA, Maluleke said.
The pharmaceutical sector employers were due to meet unions late yesterday.
Ceppwawu is planning marches for next week and has encouraged members in petroleum companies to join the protests.
