THE police in Scottburgh on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast have launched a manhunt for four unknown men, who robbed a 66-year-old pensioner of her car after tying up her hands and feet yesterday morning.

Police spokesperson Captain Vincent Pandarum said Nina Lloyd was out walking her dogs near the Scottsburgh Golf Course when she was attacked.

Threatened

The thugs took her bracelet, watch and car keys and threatened to rape and kill her when she resisted.

"She managed to drag herself out of the bushes but was unable to shout for help because of an injury to her throat," Pandarum said.

The suspects fled the scene in Lloyd's white Opel Corsa 1,4 sedan NX 23516.

The incident happened less than 24 hours after a woman was severely beaten with a hammer by robbers on the N2 near Scottburgh after she was dropped off for work on Monday morning.

The 34-year-old woman from Malangeni, who does not want to be named, was confronted by a man who had been hiding in the bushes.
