THE Lions will be out to redeem their tarnished image when they host the Cheetahs in a tough Absa Currie Cup encounter at Ellis Park Stadium tomorrow at 3pm.
This follows their 13-19 defeat by neighbours Blue Bulls last weekend at Loftus after enjoying a comfortable 13-0 cushion at the break.
At yesterday's press conference at Johannesburg Stadium, captain Cobus Grobbelaar said they had put last weekend's defeat behind them and were fired up for the game.
"The guys have been working hard at training and are looking more motivated for the match," Grobbelaar said.
"However, we need to play 80 minutes and never lose sight under pressure as was the case last weekend against the Bulls."
He said the Lions would not underestimate their dangerous opponents, who play a physical game and always pose a strong challenge.
Coach Hans Coetzee has shown trust in the team by throwing in the youngsters, who almost upset the Bulls in Pretoria last Saturday. In the only change, Derick Minnie replaces Johan Snyman on the bench.
