AN ATM bomber "kingpin" has been sentenced to 74 years in jail.
Musa Nene was convicted in the Durban high court on Tuesday on three counts of attempted murder and other charges.
"We are delighted with the outcome," said KwaZulu-Natal Senior Superintendent Vincent Mdunge.
"ATM bombing is a serious crime and the sentence sends out a clear message that police will come down hard on criminals and make sure they go to jail. We will not allow them to get the upper hand."
Nene was arrested in July last year after evading police for two years. Mdunge said they hoped to bring him back to court for other bombings.
