Winners sold, get new coach

WINNERS Park have exchanged hands and also have a new coach in Vladislav Heric.

WINNERS Park have exchanged hands and also have a new coach in Vladislav Heric.

The Believers have been bought by Limpopo businessman Johnny Mokgaladi, who also owns Vodacom Promotional League club Mathole Elephants.

Elephants, who are based in Zebediela, are coached by former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Alex "Barnes" Bapela.

The purchase of Winners Park was confirmed by the side's spokesperson Stan Mokgawa, but he did not reveal the price.

Good news to the people of Seshego and surrounding areas is that the team will continue to host their matches at their traditional base, Seshego stadium.

"I can confirm to you that the team has been bought by Johnny Mokgaladi and I have been retained as its PRO," said Mokgawa yesterday.

"I'm happy that the team will continue to play in Seshego because it is where we have a strong base. I urge the people of this township and surrounding areas to continue to rally behind the team. We have tried in vain to gain promotion to the [Absa] Premiership in the past three seasons, but I strongly believe that the 2009/10 will be our season."

Jackie "Mr Mkhari" Mogoboya, one of Winners Park's devotees, told Sowetan yesterday the people of Seshego were happy that the team would not change base.

Apart from Heric, Winners Park management have also roped in former Black Leopards' long-serving assistant coach Joel Masutha.
