Survival of the fittest at softball clash

ONLY the fittest will survive when the Limpopo Softball Association's LimDev Super League is wrapped up at Seshego diamonds tomorrow.

The league is heading for a photo-finish because three clubs that include defending champions Seleteng Giant Killers, log leaders Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts and Mahwelereng Spikes are locked on 57 points each and will come face-to-face with each other to decide the champions.

Spikes will lock horns with Wildbeasts at 11am, in one of the three crunch decider matches. Spikes will enter this encounter having the upper hand following their victory over Wildbeasts in the first round.

Wildbeasts, who beat Giant Killers in the semifinal of the Windhoek Draught last year, have an opportunity to beat the GaMphahlele-based team at 1pm. The match of the day will be between Spikes and Killers at 4.30pm.

University of Limpopo, who are relegation candidates, will have to beat Maletlane Texas and Kalkspruit Red Scorpions in order to stay in the Super League.

The already relegated Mmotong Lions will have their last kick against GaLedwaba Giant Elephants at 9am.

In other matches, Red Scorpions play against Seshego Raiders, while Raiders clash with Texas.
