Killer cop ended his own life

THE late Mhala police station commissioner, Senior Superintendent Khazamula Baloyi, was the one who shot and killed the station's head of investigations, superintendant Boy Alfred Dlamini, in December last year.

This is the finding made by the Mhala magistrate's court during an inquest hearing on Friday.

Magistrate Theo Mnisi announced that Baloyi first shot Dlamini and then committed suicide by turning the gun on himself.

Baloyi and Dlamini had had a meeting in the latter's office. Shocked staff heard the sound of gunfire and when they went to investigate, they found Baloyi lying dead in a pool of blood.

Dlamini was lying next to Baloyi alive but died in hospital later.
