Amakhosi finally net Sandilands

KAIZER Chiefs have finally lured Platinum Stars goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands to Naturena.

KAIZER Chiefs have finally lured Platinum Stars goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands to Naturena.

Negotiations between Sandilands and Amakhosi are said to be almost complete, with only a few outstanding technicalities before a formal announcement is made.

Chiefs have long been hankering after Sandilands, and have approached the keeper before.

They seem to have succeeded this time, though the player would not comment yesterday. But he did admit that he was engaged in talks with Stars, aimed at releasing him from his contract.

Sandilands renewed his contract by two years last season and it will expire at the end of next season.

"I would not like to comment at this stage because I am waiting for clarity from the club. It would also not be good for me to say anything as I am still contracted to Platinum Stars at the moment," he said, before referring all queries to his agent.

Calls to Platinum Stars chief executive Ian Riddick were not returned.
