Stress can lead to illness

Patrick Kekela wants to know about stress.

Patrick Kekela wants to know about stress.

Stress is simply the wear and tear of everyday life. Some days or events are more wearing and tearing than others and sometimes there seems to be no end in sight.

The stress we feel is the physical and psychological response to demands and pressures from within and without. To respond to the demands, we harness physical and emotional resources, but when we have to do this too often and for too long, our bodies generate distress signals. These can take the form of irritability, anger, anxiety, depression, fatigue, tension headaches, stomachaches, hypertension, ulcers, migraines, colitis or heart attacks. If we don't listen to our bodies and make lifestyle changes, stress can lead to cancer, diabetes or thyroid dysfunction - thehealthcenter.info; stressdirections.com;health andgoodness.com
