The author of a report revealing the internal divisions racking Cope is sticking to his guns despite efforts by the party's top leadership to present a united face.
Cope's head of elections Simon Grindrod, who wrote the report outlining problems besetting the ANC splinter party, said he stood by his report and urged Cope leadership to resolve problems within the organisation in a transparent manner.
"I stand by my assessment of the challenges and problems faced by Cope and my view that we, as a young party, should embrace the opportunity to honestly review the state of our organisation. It is incumbent upon our senior leaders to urgently reflect upon such issues in the best interests of the party," Grindrod said yesterday. Grindrod's report warned of divisions and lack of democracy within Cope.
