WHEN former Selimathunzi presenter Brown Matsime first burst into the limelight in 1998 on the variety TV programme he instantly amassed a huge female following with his husky voice.
Sadly, the husky-voiced one died at the weekend, three days after he was admitted to the Pretoria West Hospital with an undisclosed illness.
The funny Dukuduku man, as some would call him, was a down-to-earth guy who was popular with grassroots people.
He was the one who attended matric dances representing the popular TV show and it's there that he would be in touch with ordinary people.
A friend and hip-hop artist, Molemi, described Matsime as "a big shot in a small town".
Matsime is survived by his wife and daughter.
He will be buried at Thlabologo village outside Mafikeng in North West tomorrow.
