Three policemen were arrested in connection with corruption after they allegedly solicited an R8000 bribe from people they had caught with gold dust on Thursday last week.
The three policemen, Inspector Elvis Danke, 43, Constables Thokozani Thwala, 26, and Mandla Nake, 31, were arrested on Friday and appeared in the Barberton magistrate's court the same day.
They were not asked to plead and were remanded in custody pending their court appearance today.
Captain Leonard Hlathi told Sowetan the three were part of a unit deployed at Zonstral camp near the Oshoek border.
