Softballers move to support Bafana

FIXTURES of the Limpopo Softball Association will on Sunday pitch off two hours earlier than scheduled.

FIXTURES of the Limpopo Softball Association will on Sunday pitch off two hours earlier than scheduled.

The decision was taken to give players a chance to watch Bafana Bafana against Iraq in the opening match of the Confederation Cup at Ellis Park, 4pm

The Limpopo games will be played at Seleteng Giant Killers diamonds in GaMphahlele.

Director of competitions Benny Boshomane said the decision was taken because "our softballers are patriotic and want to join the whole country in support of Joel Santana's troops".

"The first four matches will be played on Sunday as planned.

"The only adjustments will be on the last two matches which will be played at 10am and 12.30pm respectively," said Boshomane yesterday.

"We are calling on the clubs to be punctual to ensure that we can finish on time."

Defending champions Killers stand a good chance of returning to the top because they will play against two clubs - Kalkspruit Red Scorpions and Seshego Raiders - who have never won a against them (Killers) in the past six seasons.

Killers will need to score many runs and concede a few because log leaders Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts are likely to collect maximum points against Seshego Cannons and Mamaolo Rebels.

In other matches Raiders will battle it out against Rebels while Cannons will lock horns with Red Scorpions.
