Gold slumps 13 percent

GOLD output has once again declined in April, dropping 13 percent in volume year-on-year after a 7,6 percent fall in March, according to official data released yesterday.

Statistics South Africa said the total mineral production dropped 10,6 percent in April compared with the same month last year.

Stats SA added that production of non-gold minerals was down 10,3 percent. - Sapa
