Complex to occupy the minds

IN an effort to fight crime in the Bolobedu south area, near Tzaneen, the Mopani district municipality has set aside R1,2million to revamp the Leretjene Sports Complex.

Construction work will start in early July and no fewer than 200 local people will be employed to rebuild the sports complex.

The complex, which was built about 10 years ago by Limpopo's greater Tzaneen municipality, was left incomplete by contractors. The white elephant became a grazing ground for wild and domestic animals.

Mopani district executive mayor Joshua Matlou said the district undertook to revamp the sports complex in an effort to fight crime and also to develop the skills of young sportsmen and sportswomen in the area to become professional sporting people of the future.
