JOHANNESBURG City Parks will use their facilities for public viewing of the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup to make the two competitions accessible to locals.

JOHANNESBURG City Parks will use their facilities for public viewing of the Confederations Cup and 2010 World Cup to make the two competitions accessible to locals.

Also on board for this project is MTN, an official partner of the Fifa 2010 World Cup.

Big screens will be installed in parks to entertain people with what will be known as "MTN Ekasi TV".

The big screens will be switched on daily at 2pm, beginning with cartoons, and then moving on to sport and soccer.

Sibongile Mazibuko, Johannesburg's 2010 World Cup boss, has urged those who can't attend the soccer games to go to the nearest viewing park. The parks to be used are in Ivory Park, Eldorado Park, Diepsloot, Diepkloof, Lenasia, Alexandra, Thokoza, Joubert Park and Orange Farm.

Entry is free and security will be tight.
