Service delivery is suffering in Greytown as political violence ravages the local municipality.

The tension between IFP and ANC in the uMvoti municipality began ahead of the elections in April. Since then three people, including two councillors, have been gunned down in what has been described as political attacks.

The municipality is an IFP-led institution.

ANC district councillor Thembinkosi "Tony" Malunga was shot dead on Sunday night. Another councillor, IFP's Ntuthuko Ngcobo, and a passengers, Hlekisile Gwala, were shot and killed earlier while travelling home.

Police say no arrests have been made. - Mhlaba Memela
