A LIMPOPO man who lived in a dilapidated thatched house that turned into a "pool of sorrow" on rainy days will at last get some relief after a "Good Samaritan" undertook to build him a proper house.
Edzani Consultants, a Vhembe-based sanitation company, has started to deliver building materials at Mdavula village outside Malamulele to change the life of Robert Khamanyani for the better. Edzani managing director Thuso Malelelo said his company had budgeted R100000 for completing the house and toilet. The company will build Khamanyani a three-roomed house to kick-start what he called "stepping into a better life".
The disturbing life of the 58-year-old poverty-stricken man was carried in yesterday's Sowetan. Less than three hours later, Khamanyani found a "Good Samaritan".
Khamanyani has apparently lived in the dilapidated thatched structure since 2000. He claims the structure turned into a "river" when it rained. He says he could also "count the stars at night".
He claims that not a week went by without him killing a snake because they had also made the structure their home.
