ORGANISATIONAL disunity continues to dog the ANC with at least three of its provincial executive committees described as problematic by the party's highest decision-making body.
This weekend the ANC national executive committee said it would send members of its national working committee to Eastern Cape, North West and Western Cape to look into problems dogging the party in those provinces.
In the Western Cape there are calls for the provincial executive committee to be disbanded. This after the party had lost the province to Hellen Zille's Democratic Alliance.
President Jacob Zuma's decision to move former North West premier Edna Molewa, who was accused by ANC factions in the province of being a source of disunity, and appoint her as Minister of Social Development, has not ended power struggles in the province.
But North West ANC spokesperson Oupa Matla said yesterday the problems in the province do not yet warrant a dissolution of its PEC.
"The main problem we have is ill-discipline among those who did not make on to the list."
