Top clubs hunt Yende

KAIZER Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have approached University of Pretoria with a view to buy midfield ace Mthokosizi Yende.

KAIZER Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have approached University of Pretoria with a view to buy midfield ace Mthokosizi Yende.

Yende is one of several AmaTuks players expected to join Premiership clubs next season. "It's true that Chiefs and Sundowns have formally approached the University of Pretoria regarding the services of Yende," said a source close to the player.

"They are, however, still talking about the figures, but I can tell you Yende won't go for anything less than R500000."

Yende was one of the most impressive players in the Nedbank Cup, and was named Player of the Tournament. Thato Moleko, on loan from SuperSport United, is going back to the Absa Premiership champions in July.

As for AmaTuks captain Obed Moyo, he is on the verge of joining BidVest Wits, while Warren Bishop has signed with AmaZulu.
