A 27-YEAR-OLD Orange Farm man has been arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death, Sebokeng police said yesterday.
The man was arrested on Monday after the death of his girlfriend on Saturday, Captain Johannes Motsiri said.
The two are alleged to have had a quarrel at about 8pm on Saturday when the man started assaulting the 19-year-old woman.
After the assault the woman is alleged to have left her boyfriend's place in Orange Farm Extension 2, south of Johannesburg, to go to her parent's home a few metres away.
"But she collapsed before she reached her home and died," Motsiri said.
The man, who has not been named, will appear in the Vereeniging magistrate's court today to face a charge of murder. - Sapa
