SOUTH African athletes who won the 2008 South African Sports Awards in January, have still not received the cash that went with their prizes.
DA spokesperson on sport and recreation Donald Lee said yesterday that the SABC, which sponsored the awards, the Department of Sport and Recreation and the South African Sport Confederations and Olympics Committee all need to explain why this money has not been paid.
Those not paid include the paralympians Natalie du Toit and Hilton Langenhoven.
"We understand that they have not even communicated to the athletes the reasons for their failure to pay up the money," Lee said. - I-Net Bridge
