Spanish superstar David Villa warned Bafana that Spain will bring their star players and that local fans will be treated to an exciting display of soccer, which has never been seen in South Africa by the world's top ranked side.

Bafana meet the world's number one ranked country in their third and final Group A match at the Free State Stadium on June 20. Bafana play Iraq in the opening match at Ellis Park on June 14 and then meet New Zealand in Rustenburg on June 17.

The host nation is hoping to have secured the six points needed to qualify for the semifinals before they face the hot Spaniards.

Just the thought of watching Valencia's Villa and his friend Fernando Torres of Liverpool tearing apart the lightweight Bafana defence is a frightening thought.

In group B are Italy, Confederations Cup holders Brazil, the United States and Egypt. The two top teams in each group qualify for the semifinals.

In a special interview with Sapa via satellite from his home in the Spanish city of Valencia where he plays for Valencia in La Liga, Villa, the world-rated striker, said Spain were determined to win the Confederations Cup at their first attempt.

"We have been criticised in the past for not delivering but all that ended when we won Euro 2008. Now we are coming to South Africa to win the Confederations Cup,' he said.

' I believe we have the players to succeed. We are well equipped to win the cup and Euro 2008 has ended a long trophy drought and we aim to add to this."

But he admitted he knew nothing about Bafana soccer or local conditions. - Sapa
