SIXTEEN top South African development teams are due to fight it out for the coveted Manchester United Under-15 Premier Cup (MUPC) at the Safa Soweto grounds in Kliptown on Friday through to Sunday.

In a continued effort to support and uplift U-15 soccer in the country, the MUPC organisers extended an invitation to every PSL team that has an U-15 squad.

Phil Mogodi, boss of Soweto Football Association said: "This competition is a fantastic example of promoting the development of soccer in the country and which augurs well for the future of Bafana Bafana.

"If you consider the teams that are taking part this year, it is clear that we have a mixture of clubs and football academies representing all corners of South Africa vying for the ultimate ticket to go to Manchester United for the world finals."

The SuperSport United Under-15 squad won the prestigious title in last year's tournament and travelled to Manchester in the UK to compete in the international finals of the MUPC.
