Police have warned motorists who fraudulently acquired driver's licences to come forward or face prosecution.
Two senior traffic officials stationed at the Lydenburg licence testing centre appeared in the local magistrate's court for fraud and corruption with Phineas Manzini, the owner of Manzini Driving School, this week. The case has been postponed to June 29. They are each out on R2000 bail.
Bruce John Nel and Andrei Leon van Zyl contract workers for the Thaba Chweu municipality in Lydenburg were arrested at work last Friday on allegations of selling the drivers' licences. Manzini was arrested for allegedly supplying them with clients.
Captain Leonard Hlathi of the Mpumalanga organised crime unit warned motorists with fraudulent licences to hand them over to the police.
