The 11th annual African Renaissance Festival gets under way in KwaZulu-Natal from Monday to Friday.

The event promises to give delegates from across the continent the taste of what the Banana City has to offer.

Also included on the schedule is a dazzling Africa Day concert that has always been the highlight of the event.

A great line-up of musicians that included the legendary Ray Phiri and Stimela, former Bongo Muffin songbird Thandiswa Mazwai and bestselling Zimbabwean artist Oliver Mtukudzi.

The vice-chairperson of the festival Sihawu Ngubane said they were excited with this year's event, saying that the sectors that would be taking part this time around, such as the arts, culture and tourism, had not been part of the festival for a long time.
