We never thought that one day we would live to hear a Cosas general secretary finding something useful about apartheid era style of managing schools. He says they want the return of the old-style school inspectors.

"During apartheid, schools were properly managed because inspectors would drop by without notifying the staff," said Cosas' general secretary, Antonio Carelse this week.

What is more, Cosas is at odds with the South African Democratic Teachers Union who are dead set against the idea. We will patiently wait to see who between teacher and student will ultimately prevail.
