The boxing tournaments at the Multi-Purpose Centre in Finetown tomorrow night and Nasrec Arena on Sunday promise to be bloody affairs .

Two South African belts - Patrick Malinga's lightweight and Macbute Sinyabi's junior featherweight strap - will be at stake.

Malinga will fight Mzolisi Yoyo in Finetown, near Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, while Sinyabi will fight Desmond Samuels from Western Cape at Nasrec, near Soweto.

Malinga, from Katlehong in Ekurhuleni, is managed by older brother Peter, a former SA, WBU and IBO welterweight champion.

Sinyabi is from Mdantsane in Eastern Cape but is based in Gauteng where he will appear for the first time under new manager Nick Durandt.

Malinga and Sinyabi will both bid for first defences of the belts they won last year.

The Malinga-Yoyo confrontation will top the seven-bout programme of Future Promotions.

Malinga is favoured to win by a stoppage but it has to be early because the longer the fight goes on, the more it will suit Yoyo, who is a slow starter.

This fight will be televised live on Blow by Blow at 10pm.

Then on Sunday, the towering Sinyabi will square up against the diminutive Samuels in the main fight of Rainbow Promotion's six-bout bill at Nasrec.

Sinyabi could be ring rusty. He last fought in March last year. That fight only lasted two minutes and 47 seconds after he blew Tshepo Mofokeng away to win the national belt. In fact, eight of his 10 knockouts were in the first round.

Solomons is undefeated after four wins with two stoppages.
