Mokopane Academy sailed through to the national finals of the Copa Coca-Cola Football Stars after pipping Hudson Ntsanwisi 2-1 in the regional finals at the University of Limpopo on Saturday.

Mokopane Academy sailed through to the national finals of the Copa Coca-Cola Football Stars after pipping Hudson Ntsanwisi 2-1 in the regional finals at the University of Limpopo on Saturday.

Mokopane's victory over Limpopo's perennial provincial representatives was made possible by Lebogang Tsholo's 15th-minute strike and Ernest Mahudu's 47th- minute goal, while Aviva Hlanganani scored Ntsanwisi's consolation goal two minutes from time.

Mokopane beat Wisdom Academy 1-0 in the semifinals, while Ntsanwinwisi thumped Mack Semeka 3-0.

Edward Motale, one of the Football Stars selectors, said he was impressed with the standard of football on the day. The national finals are set for Muckleuneck in Mamelodi from May 22 to 25. - Matome Lebea
