Two people arrested for the killing of a teacher in Nongoma in northern KwaZulu-Natal a week ago are now suspected of being serial killers.

This after the two suspects were linked to the killing of three other people, including an 18-month-old baby, found in shallow graves.

The suspects, Johnson Njoko, 43, and his girlfriend Zinhle Buthelezi, 27, were arrested shortly after the killing of the Ingwenyama Primary School teacher Winile Ntshangase.

Ntshangase was found dead at her home in Es'khaleni last Tuesday.

The suspects have allegedly confessed that they murdered the other three people, who are the man's wife Velisiwe Mchunu, 38, and their baby, and his girlfriend Sheshile Basi, 27.

The police said the body, found early this month in the Gugothandayo area in Nongoma, has been linked to the suspects.

The police were called to the scene and found dogs feeding on a dead body they had dug out of a shallow grave behind the house.

The police are investigating a possible link with another body that might be another of Njoko's victims.
