The Argentina forward's two-year loan deal expires at the end of the season and, according to Tevez's representatives, the club is unwilling to sign him on a permanent contract.
When Ferguson delivered a victory speech after a 0-0 draw with Arsenal secured the title, the Scot's words were drowned out by pro-Tevez chanting.
Later, the same chants of "Fergie sign him up" were clearly audible inside the ground, where the Glazers, the club's owner were celebrating.
Tevez (25) appeared to be saying farewell when he was substituted in the second half, waving to each corner of the ground. He subsequently seemed to be crying in the dugout.
"It's emotional. I like Manchester, and I like the fans," Tevez said later in broken English. Asked if he wanted to stay at the club, he said: "It's very difficult." Ferguson has expressed frustration at having to deal with a third party, Kia Joorabchian, who owns the rights to Tevez. - Sapa-AP
